Description
“River Crossing II” oil on panel, unframed.
My third small painting from my trip to the Salt River Arizona to visit the wild horse herd that lives along the riverbank.
I am starting to find my way with how I want to handle the foliage, water and the equine figure. My next paintings, which will be bigger in size, I want to work the riverbank background a little more abstractly. You can start to see some of the fun brushwork and solvent reduction marks in this piece evolving in this painting. This is a little more ‘me’ than literal background leaves, branches etc.
The water is an interesting element with a grey horse – all the reflected light and colours that bounce back onto the figure.
This painting is being sold via Daily Paintworks auction – starting bid at $100.00 Click HERE to bid. This is likely my last small artwork from this series that I will be selling via auction format – just a heads up! Thank you for bidding!
